Revelstoke Mountain Resort (RMR) Ski Lodge & Maintenance Facility

Scope ... The 10,500 sf ski-lodge project for RMR included a 5500sf Heavy Timber-Framed restaurant and complete renovation of the existing 5,000 sf Day Lodge at the RMR resort to create the new on-mountain skier services facility.  The new DayLodge functions include ski rental shop, retail and operations areas, restaurant and dining room to accommodate 1,000 skier visits per day.

Construction Services ... Paragon was contracted by Revelstoke Mountain Resort to provide a full range of fast-tracked construction services from concept through completion. Initiation and planning included assembling a strong team of on very short notice for a prompt start and compressed / "stacked" execution of design, engineering and construction.  Planning, design and engineering commenced in April 2007, construction began in May – running concurrently with engineering and drawings, and substantial completion/occupancy was achieved by December 2007.  Paragon led the design team through planning & design, and concurrently began procurement and construction, directing all construction activities for site works, building structures & envelope, facility services and interior fit & finish. Cost management (the project came in "on budget") started with budget development and carried through to commissioning. Scheduling was a critical element and required daily updates and micro-management, with diligent on-site supervision. Risk management, as always, was delivered with a proactive approach, complying with the with the owner's site specific safety program. Paragon also provided all interior fit-up including commercial kitchen, office fit-up, and all restaurant furnishings.

Running concurrently with the Day Lodge project was the Ski Operations Maintenance Facility ("Snowcat shop"), including extensive site works, Industrial Service Shop and Fuel Depot. In all, the project came in on-budget and on time, which aside from safety and quality control was the most critical element of the project.
